I recently listened to Snoop Dogg’s latest effort “Doggumentary“. Big mistake! See, Snoop is one of the emcees that decreased the quality of his releases with the passing of time, but somehow I still give him a shot every time he releases new material. Maybe it’s just me and I can’t adapt to the ever-so-changing style of mister Dogg, but I’m not feeling this album at all… So I’ll stick to the rhymes of a much more younger Snoop.

Mister “Oh Canada” has just released his 14th (!!!) album, making it his 2nd major label release, and with it, he solidifies the place he has in the Canadian hip-hop scene – top notch producer that can also deliver with the pen and pad. “Handshakes and Middle Fingers” is one of Classified’s best effort, in his top 3 in my opinion.

You know what other newly released album is good? Cunninlynguists – Oneirology. I can’t stress hard enough how good Kno’s production is with this one.. and Deacon and Natti’s lyrics fit perfectly to the task.
A nice, smooth and very jazzy track for this week’s series.
Tape 8, filled with goodies.

As most of you know by now, the artist known as Nate Dogg passed away last night, at the age of 41 due to heart problems. This comes as a shock……it’s very disheartening to know that I’ll never hear the man with that soulful, dark voice lacing hooks like no other. You all know what Nate did for this music industry and how he shaped the whole west coast…Damn!
